After successfully providing the ChatGPT application, OpenAI seems to be continuing to explore its steps, under the leadership of Sam Altman. The company is now reportedly recruiting Apple executive Tang Tan regarding work on a device project based on AI technology.
It was reported in September that OpenAI wanted to create its first consumer device that offered a more natural and intuitive way of interacting with AI. The company worked with former Apple designer Sir Jony Ive and SoftBank's Masayoshi Son on the product.
According to Bloomberg, Ive and Sam Altman have now tapped Apple executive Tang Tan to work on the hardware engineering side of the project.
When Tan leaves Cupertino in February, he will join Ive's design company, LoveFrom, which creates the looks and capabilities of AI devices. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Altman's role is to provide intelligent software and artificial intelligence.
