Mortal Kombat 11 – The More Real, The More Brutal

The iconic fighting game series, which is still well known to the public, has finally released its newest sequel, Mortal Kombat 11. This latest Mortal Kombat series can be said to be the third in the new Mortal Kombat trilogy, which has left its old home, Midway. Although it has now been worked on at a new game developer studio, Netherealm Studio, this newest game is still under Ed Boon. For those who have never heard the name Ed Boon, he is the man behind the success of Mortal Kombat. Ed Boon has also on several occasions voiced characters in his own game. Not only that, as a trivia, the name Noob Saibot itself is taken from his name and his partner who jointly designed Mortal Kombat, John Tobias.

This eleventh series, returns to return Story Mode, which is a fun story to watch. In this mode, you will play various characters that you definitely know, such as Liu Kang, Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Sonya Blade, and many others. Not only that, what's interesting about this 11th series is that the graphics are much improved compared to the Mortal Kombal X (XL) series. The graphic display in Mortal Kombat 11 is more realistic than the previous series. This is the main attraction of this game. You are curious about this game, it's a good idea for you to follow this article to the end.

Storyline Mortal Kombat 11

The story brought by Mortal Kombat 11 is a continuation of the 10th series. It all started when Raiden, the god of thunder, became an authoritarian figure after killing Shinnok. All of this is because of the amulet that makes Raiden an ambitious, but ruthless figure. On the other hand, Sonya and her daughter Cassie Cage undertake a task that makes Sonya disappear. The loss of Sonya makes Cassie and her father, Johnny Cage think that Sonya is dead. The killing of Shinnok at the hands of Raiden and also the victory of Earthrealm, was not okay. A mysterious figure named Kronika wants to turn back time before Raiden killed Shinnok. Turns out, behind it all there is a reason. Kronika wants to balance the dark and light sides of the world in Mortal Kombat.

The timeline return made by Kronika turned out to be a new problem. Mortal Kombat characters like Johnny Cage, Sonya, and others from the past come to the future. Here there are many awkward moments experienced by them. Johnny Cage met each other, and Cassie Cage met her father as a young man who had a much childish nature. Likewise, Sonya Blade in the past met her daughter who turned out to be the same age as her.

Not only the protagonists who meet him in his youth, characters like Kano also meet his youth. He also cooperates with his past self to carry out his evil plan.

Mortal Kombat 11 Graphics and Gameplay

Although still using the old engine used in Mortal Kombat X/XL, Unreal Engine 3, Netherealm Studio is able to optimize the quality of the graphics displayed in this 11th sequel. The visual presentation is much more realistic and detailed. From the hair to the other details, Netherealm Studio handled it very well. The facial expressions shown are much more realistic and not stiff.

Talking about Mortal Kombat, of course you can't leave Fatality, Brutality, and other "lities" behind. Fatality in Mortal Kombat 11 looks very brutal and sometimes makes you sick because of the high level of reality. In addition, Netherealm still presents the X-Ray system when one character is hit with a strong attack by another player. Actually this system has started in Mortal Kombat 9 which was released in 2011.

Apart from the Fatality, Brutality, and so on, the most offered from the latest sequel to this game is the Story Mode. This mode will take you into the story like a Hollywood movie. The story is very fun to follow, even when playing the Story Mode, we are more interested in watching the per-scene that is shown. Not enough with the Story Mode, Mortal Kombat 11 offers a feature that allows you to customize the costumes of each Mortal Kombat character. In addition, there are skins that are no less interesting, such as the first Mortal Kombat Movie skin which was released in 1995.

Not satisfied with this 11th series, the developer then made an expansion series with the name Aftermarth. In this expansion there is a lot of content that you can get for free starting from Friendship that makes you laugh out loud and also some new areas. Plus, there's a new Story Mode that you can play. Story Mode in this expansion begins when Liu Kang becomes a new god.

Conclusion

Mortal Kombat 11 for us is the perfect fighting game from the graphic aspect to the story. The multiplayer feature is also not to be missed, especially since MK 11 is one of the games used for esports. Unfortunately to get it, you can't buy it directly via Steam, because this game didn't enter our region because it was banned. However, if you want to play it, you can buy the original license through several sellers in several marketplaces.
