Control – For those of you who know a Remedy developer company, you must be familiar with works called Max Payne, Quantum Break, and also Alan Wake. These three games are arguably the best three games. Now, Remedy has released a game that is not inferior to the Max Payne trilogy, Quantum Break, and also Alan Wake, namely Control. This game displays the sophistication of real-time ray tracing technology with a mystery wrapped in a story that is no less profound.
This game applies real-time ray tracing technology to its full potential so gamers can see how realistic the shadows and reflections are. For owners of NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards, Control is the right game to make their graphics cards show their best performance, especially for those of you who have just bought the RTX 3000 series. On this occasion, we will review this game from Remedy. Follow this SixthGameOn article to the end.
Storyline Control
In this game, you will play as Jesse Faden who visits an office called the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) which is a secret government agency operating in the city of New York. However, this office can only be found by those who deliberately seek it. Jesse Faden's arrival at the organization's office was not without purpose. Here he is looking for his younger brother named Dylan Faden.
While exploring the building, Jesse meets a janitor named Ahti who shows the way to the elevator. However, while tracing the elevator, he finds the Director of the Federal Bureau of Control named Zachriah Trench committing suicide with a service weapon. Then, seeing the lying weapon, Jesse was curious and took the weapon. It turned out that the weapon was an object called the Object of Power Known which was the weapon that brought Jesse to the Astral Plane.
The chaos that occurred within the FBC department turned out to be caused by an entity called The Hiss who had taken control of the building. The Hiss is able to enter the bodies of several important people in the organization. In addition, he gains a supernatural power that allows him to do many things that have never been thought of before. Plus it can summon an entity called Polaris. Polaris helps Jesse by passing information through his mind. Plus with the help of Polaris, he has supernatural powers that allow Jesse to lift objects without having to touch them and throw them with supernatural powers.
Gameplay and Graphics
As we know from previous game series made by Remedy such as Max Payne, Quantum Break, and also Alan Wake, this Finnish developer is able to provide gameplay and stories that are quite fresh among other games. This game carries a third-person perspective with an engine developed by Remedy himself called Northlight. This engine was first used for the Quantum Break game and the implementation in this game is very impressive. In this game you will be presented with a mysterious environment with infinite absurdities. However, in the midst of this mysterious absurd concept, we found that there were some gaps that Remedy should have filled well.
For the mechanics of the gameplay, we give two thumbs up for this game. You can perform actions with supernatural powers. When facing The Hiss, Jesse is equipped with a weapon called the Director's Gun or Service Weapon and also the power of telekinesis which is supported by an entity called Polaris. Here you will experience quite interactive gameplay. You can throw objects without having to touch them to beat up enemies in the game control world.
Then, Jesse's actions in dealing with The Hiss are complemented by properties or objects around that can be destroyed, ranging from crumbling walls to falling debris. What makes this Control worth playing is its vast world. Although this game has a place setting that is in an open world, the map presented is very wide. And, you could say, this game carries the concept of a semi open world. Because of the wide map in this game, you can do fast travel.
